Scoop'd: How to Eat Hummus Like an Israeli

This is all in Hebrew, so apologies if you don't understand it. But basically the discussion is "Why do Israelis enjoy dipping and scooping up hummus and tehina and all those other things?" (Oddly, no one mentions the Passover seder.) There's also some important discussion about technique, illustrated by helpful "airplane safety manual-style" drawings, and a discussion of the famous and apparently international "three-second rule."

Check it out and compare your technique. Do you have what it takes to scoop like a sabra? And where's your favorite hummus? Jerusalem? Tel Aviv? Abu Ghosh? Check Jerusalemite for some help in hummus selection, or share your own personal favorite.

"20 Things to Do With Matzah": Michelle Citrin and the Jewish Robot Win Again

OK, OK. Michelle, Shabot, you win. I can't out-creative you two. Chag sameach to everyone!

Pesach Video Battle: Moses v. Moses

It's Passover, which means any excuse to make another video that the creators hope will go viral and be the "Lazy Sunday" of the holiday season. "Lazy Seder," if you will. (Why hasn't anyone done that?)

First up is Matt Bar collaborating with Doogree Records on the video for his Moses rap that took shape last year at the PresenTense Institute. (I was there, and heard early versions, and I have to tip my hat to Matt--he's done an amazing job.)

Next is Birthright Israel's entry into the mix, "Get Down With Moses," which has a much higher production value and a cast of thousands. OK, that's an exaggeration, but there's certainly a bunch of people involved.

And your scrolling bonus, still one of my favorite Seder-related clips, Ben Baruch's "Seda Club."

Jock Stirrup and Biggus--Well, You Know...

For those of you who missed what could have been another example of beating a joke to death and instead became one of those classic moments of television, here's the expertly professional John Oliver delivering a memorial to the fallen British soldiers while Jon Stewart loses it...

A Group That Makes Me Giggle: The Whitest Kids U' Know

Back in the day, I loved the Kids in the Hall, an all-male sketch group from Canada that had been discovered and imported by Lorne Michaels of Saturday Night Live. Due to a few late nights "at the office," I've stumbled across IFC's newest Kids on the block...The Whitest Kids U' Know.

This sketch comedy group doesn't hold anything too sacred or to be too silly for them to tackle. Taking a farmer time traveling to watch him "freak the f*ck out"? They'll do it. A sketch titled "Space Potatoes"? Yup. The true story of what happened to Abraham Lincoln? Done.

Because it's IFC, there's some naughty language and occasionally some brief and usually pointless nudity. But not in this clip below, which I share with you as a writer.

Sometimes, it feels like you've been writing forever. And really, the whole time, you've been writing in pie. Genius.
