Sitting at the ROI Summit in Jerusalem for my seventh time, listening to Lynn Schusterman tell us how much she appreciates the work we all do and hearing from LIVESTRONG CEO Doug Ulman about how he transformed three different cancer diagnoses into activism, I realize how lucky I am.
Not just to be healthy (so far, she said, throwing some salt over her shoulder just to be sure), but to have a network of people to rely on, an ongoing conversation with friends and colleagues (frolleagues?) around the world. Not just to be in the room, but to have a network of friends outside the room who choose to spend their time linking into us electronically, joining us from across oceans and time zones. And I'm lucky to live in a time when the technology permits more connections and provides the opportunity to deepen our relationships.
Most of you reading this are not here with us in Jerusalem. But you can join us.
There's still more to come in tonight's session, and the livestream is up, complete with a
list of upcoming sessions which will be broadcast over the web for anyone who wants to access it.
Twitter's a great source for tracking the chat and chatter of ROI participants from dozens of countries who are with us at the summit.
Follow the hashtag, #roicom, for the buzz inside and outside the room.
Still hungry for more?
Summit Central has great stuff for you - new videos, photos and blogs coming daily.
Plus, coming Wednesday, a chance to comment and vote on the ideas that may shape the Jewish future, as ROIers bring together their strengths and passions to craft new and exciting initiatives. Stay tuned to #roicom for the latest updates on how to get involved.
I hope you'll join us whenever you can, ask questions and participate in the global conversation on Jewish creativity and innovation.
